Hear me out
I have this headcanon about Ardyn. Like the true reason he wanted his bloodline to end was so his family wouldn’t continue to be slaves to the Gods and so oracles would no longer suffer. Like he even mentioned Luna is already dying because of the price she pays being an Oracle. Like yeah with the gods “blessing” both king and Oracle get to help their people but at what cost? I’m not entirely sure if there would be an oracle without a king so correct me if I’m wrong but two birds one stone. I know he felt bitter resentment for his brother/family betraying him but i think that died when those who had taken part died or not long after. I think it was hard for him to watch for a millennia as his family and oracles all suffered because of the gods.

This is an interesting analysis. Ardyn - might almost feel that it’s his duty; he was the First King of Lucis, and, in some of our worldbuilds, the brother to the first Oracle. He began this; he might feel that it’s his burden to end it, to free his family from the crippling tyranny of the gods.
