How do you think a soulmates!AU version of Nyx/Cor/Ardyn would go?
lectorel
Depends on what type of soulmate trope is used. Name on the wrist could be interesting - Ardyn sought out /thousands/ of ‘Cor’s and 'Nyx’s over the millennia. They’re never his.
So why would these ones be?
Meanwhile, Regis met Nyx when he joined the kingsglaive, and immediately introduced him to Cor.
Oh, I like this! In the meantime - can you just. Imagine. Everyone in the know about the names decorating the Lord Marshall of the Crownsguard and Sir Nyx Ulric of the Kingsglaive - just about swallow their tongue when the envoy from Niflheim is introduced.
Regis probably takes one look at Ardyn’s flamboyance and fleetingly thinks that this is the kind of Third that Cor and Nyx deserve. Nonetheless - there’s an opportunity here.
Except that Ardyn probably doesn’t react to being introduced to Cor, just calls him ‘Lord Marshall’ in his characteristic sickeningly-sweet trademark. Pretty much the same for Nyx; the Glaive most likely - awkwardly introduces himself at a party Ardyn is attending, and Ardyn simply smiles at him before swanning away.
…I think it would take both Nyx and Cor confronting him simultaneously and bluntly asking to see his Marks to make Ardyn realize just why he’s been getting those looks.
