Graves is an utter sap. Newt is well aware of that, usually, but even he underestimates the effect his and Arwen’s singing of the Lay has on his beloved and hia happily surprised by the heart-eyes afterwards.

Theseus on the other hand noticed immediately and teases Graves mercilessly for it. Graves retaliates by laying out just how closely related Theseus is to Beren and Luthien until the other elf is green in the face.

I wonder if Newt has an epithet? Like Arwen has Evenstar and Luthien has Nightingale? Or Graves for that matter.

I have been thinking about an AU where Percival is a vampire and the original Graves that helped found and defend MACUSA. He had this pretty wife he was all in love with but she was burned at the stake by no-maj. 

But Percival had cast a powerful spell so she would be reincarnated in 100/500 years and they could reunite.

Que Percival meeting Newt. 

It could go two ways which I haven’t decided on yet, thus haven’t started working on. 

First way is something cute from Percival’s view with him meeting baby Newt and watching over him growing up, saving him CONSTANTLY because little Newt is a shit. Always feeling like a pedo monster and wanting only good things for pure unicorn Newt. Who would grow up and admit he always knew he was Percival’s mate because he loved him at first sight or equally sappy words. 

Second way is from Newt’s point of view growing up meeting Percival through the years and knowing he was the legendary mate reincarnated but Percival doesn’t realize it. Que lots of angst for Newt, thinking that he’s not what the vampire really wants in a mate. For this one I was thinking a fake reincarnation could appear and Newt would be the only one who knows she’s a faking faker that fakes.  

Either way, there would be lots of blood drinking sexy times and likely some baby vamp Credence wandering in and Newt taking him in and Percival having to help him vamp vampingly and bam, cute family.
