IM CACKLING I mean the Crowe is Regis’ daughter fic is going to be it’s own verse but like. Thinking about her and Ace being half-siblings is hilarious. Noctis is mildly jealous of the fact that his half-siblings are more dangerous than he is. He enjoys hearing tales of their adventures outside the wall and both Noctis and Ace laugh when they see Crowe in a Dress that she can easily move to murder someone in. 

She also has approximately 10 knives on her. Cor and uncle Ardyn approve.

Honestly, one reason I’ve like to see the Royal Bastards AU is because just imagine the LOOK Clarus and Cor would give a suddenly-sweating Regis. Really, Regis. REALLY?

thank you! i was originally going to go with a wanted portrait but the blank space was annoying me so i scrapped that idea.

ardyn having posters of ace in various disguises and some of him out of said disguises hanging in his office just makes me think of a Proud Dad who will brag about his kid every chance he gets.

…except he can’t exactly brag about Ace to anyone in the Empire without bringing them down on Ace’s head. Still, he might find a way - refrain from mentioning Ace’s name, location, or physical appearance when he talks fondly about ‘his nephew’. …pretty much the same way Ace doesn’t spill anything incriminating in Insomnia when talking about ‘his uncle’. 

The first time Ardyn does this, it sets of the equivalent of a siren and full-on Emergency Alert! in Gralea. The Chancellor had blood-kin? One he was fond of? If this kid was anything like him, they were all doomed! (Of course, there were the blackmail attempts, attempts to find Ace and use him to ensure Ardyn’s Good Behavior, etc - but said efforts were doomed to failure).

Of course, it’s Ace’s bar that takes most of the damage, of course, it’s after most of the Glaives get off from work so the place is packed. Of course, they all witness their bartender throwing up a shield to protect everyone from the flames and pieces of the falling roof.

And then they watch, Nyx, Libertus, and Crowe with gaping mouths, as Ace summons his Armiger and proceeds to get into a fight with a god.

They would help except Ace, for some reason, has left the shield around what remains of his bar up as he goes head to head with Ifrit.

Pelna: *recording whats going on with his phone* Nyx remind me not to piss off your husband.

And of course, by the time anyone from the Citadel gets there Ifrit is gone having done his duty of pissing off the Lucis Caelum’s and what’s left is an angry Ace swearing and directing emergency crews to those who are the most injured by various debris.

OH I LOVE THIS IDEA! Ace is. Out of town for Spy Things. No one can contact him and he wouldn’t be able to come anyway. However the moment the Glaives come back and it’s evident that Ace isn’t around Uncle Ardyn gets called.

Neither Nyx or Libertus are impressed.

“NO!” comes the outburst from Libertus, “No! Don’t tell me you called Ace’s uncle. Please tell me that isn’t the case.” 

Drautos blinks, surprised by the sudden outburst that a man on as many painkillers as Libertus has no right on having. “Ace is out of town,” he notes dryly and beside Libertus Nyx groans in despair.

“Captain,” Nyx says, “With all due respect, that’s the worst thing you could have done.”

Drautos is about to respond when Ardyn Izunia, Chancellor of Niflheim, walks through the doors.

“Captain,” Ardyn says, and there’s an underlying threat in his voice that’s masked by fake cheer, “I must thank you for seeing my nephews to safety! I would be most upset should anything happen to them.” 

Nyx mutters something that sounds like ‘We’re not your actual nephews’ and Libertus makes a noise just on the edge of a whine.

For once, Drautos is at a loss as to what he should do.
