yes! basically, i headcanon that every single galahdin is disappointed in Insomnia’s food scene. even the places that claim to serve Real Galahdian Food are run by insomnians and are missing basic dishes and tone what they do make down for the other Insomnians.

As someone who moved from AZ to Virginia:

I really fucking MISS good, authentic mexican food. I’m talking like, little-old-ladies-with-shoping-cart-tamales, the guac with everything, carne asada, and god DAMNIT I could STAB A MAN for a GOOD Menudo that’s not 40 bucks a vat. Like. Gimme dat spicy pork deliciousness and Horchata too. Tacos from roach coaches and burritos that aren’t mostly filler. I would LOVE a DECENT FAJITA IN THIS LIFETIME. Mangos and guava and coconut are also ridiculously expensive and ugh. I want a GOOD coconut that sloshes when I shake it.

ONE place out here does it okay, and they’re outside my stomping grounds.

And he isn’t trying to cater to Insomnians; he’s just cooking the food he grew up with, and there is always a mango propped in a place of honor on the bar.
