The mask is the first thing to come off, and he has to enlist Sonitus to help him get it off. As soon as the mask is free of his body, it disappears into a flash of purple.

Ace grimaces, gives Axis permission to break into his apartment and get him a change of clothing and scrambles at the buckles for his gauntlets. They fall to the ground and disappear the same way the helmet did.

Ace would appreciate how the fingers had been fashioned into claws but he’s more determined to get out of this mess of fabric and armor. Fuck, how did the Kings of Old do this?

Eventually, he gets out of the rest of his armor, each piece disappearing when it loses contact with Ace’s body. Despite the armor being gone, he’s still glowing.

Ace is going to murder Bahamut. It’s going to be messy and Ace is going to enjoy every second of it.

Thankful that Selena was there and took over the bar while Ace and Sonitus dealt with the armor problem Ace storms out of one of the bars back rooms in brand new clothing, picks up his phone, and tries to call Ardyn.

He gets a dial tone, which is all the confirmation he needs that something like this happened to Ardyn as well. For some reason, he’s seeing someone getting thrown out a window. Hm.

“You’re going to have to go to the Citadel,” Axis says, “You do realize that right?”

Ace grimaces. “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I want to.”

“You could drop in in style,” Sonitus suggests, “Warp there and laugh at the chaos.”

Ace considers it.

Then he does it.

He’ll treasure the shocked look on Clarus’ face for years.

“Hey,” Ace says, staring at Regis’ glowing figure, “Anyone figure out how to get this glowing shit to stop?”

(please, please, please copy, paste, and share widely):

-Border Patrol can verify citizenship within 100 miles of a border or “external boundary.” This includes coastlines so NYC is within the 100-mile zone.

-Border patrol can only ask brief questions about citizenship, and they cannot hold you for an extended time without cause.

-You always have the right to remain silent. You do not need to answer their questions.

-***WITH THAT SAID, IF YOU ARE A BORN CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE, YOU NEED TO SPEAK THE FUCK UP.***

-The most important acts of resistance are the small ones. Make it difficult and uncomfortable for ICE agents to do their jobs. They are counting on citizens to turn a blind eye and allow them to deport undocumented citizens without challenge. Disabuse of that notion.

-If you are on a train, bus, or anything else and ICE or CBP boards, you need to stand up and loudly let everyone know that they have the right to remain silent or only answer questions in the presence of an attorney, no matter their citizenship or immigration status. There have been numerous reports that confronting the agents in this way has caused them to leave without verifying citizenship. THIS CAN SAVE LIVES.

-If you see anyone being held up by immigration, loudly ask if they are being detained and if they are free to go.

-Immigration officers cannot detain anyone without reasonable suspicion, an agent must have specific facts about you that make it reasonable to believe you are committing or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law.

If an agent detains you, you can ask for their basis for reasonable suspicion, and they should tell you.

-Always say no to a search and let everyone know that they can and should refuse consent to a search.

-They cannot search or arrest anyone without facts about that make it probable that they are committing, or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law.

-Silence alone meets neither of these standards. Nor does race or ethnicity alone suffice for either probable cause or reasonable suspicion

-As white citizens, we have a level of privilege which protects us from retaliation from ICE for being “rude” and making a scene, which makes it our DUTY to speak up and make sure people without the same privilege know their rights. GET LOUD. YELL. YELL IN SPANISH IF YOU KNOW IT. LET PEOPLE KNOW THEY DON’T HAVE TO SAY SHIT. MAKE ICE UNCOMFORTABLE. THROW SAND IN THE GEARS OF WHITE SUPREMACY.

BONUS INFO:

-It is perfectly legal to record immigration agents as long as you are not on government property or at a port of entry. If your train/bus gets board, pull your phone out and start videotaping immediately.

-If you are detained or see someone getting detained, get the agent’s name, number, and any other identifying information. Get it on tape.

-Contact the ACLU if you see someone’s rights being violated.

Wyoming only has 3 legislators: 2 Senators and a Congressperson. It is also one of the reddest, most conservative states in the Union. All 3 seats are taken up by hardline, Trump supporting Republicans.

We have Senator John Barrasso (@SenJohnBarrasso on Twitter).

He looks alright, but he is a climate change denying homophobe that gets paid big bucks by fossil fuel companies. He’s also Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

He has. NOT. ONCE.

Voted against Trump Policy

Condemned the detained and separated families

Stood up for #BlackLivesMatter

Supported Women’s reproductive rights

Legislated for pay equality

Advocated LGBTQ marriage equality, much less LGBTQ workplace and housing protections

I swear I don’t do it on purpose

They could have at least kept their humanity… debatable as it was. But no, here they were, a newborn Maia and Vala, not a spark of humanness between the two of them. He didn’t even know what the words truly meant.

Noctis was pretty sure they weren’t even mortal anymore.

His dad was bound to him, as he had been to the ring. It was weird - but seeing his dad like this, like he had been in Cid’s picture was somehow weirder still.

He knew Regis had used his new shapeshifting powers to make himself look younger and he raised an eyebrow at him. Regis just grinned, the weight of Eos gone from his shoulders.

Seeing Regis like this… it was good.

Why could he sense corruption on this planet as well?

“Well.” Stated Regis, staring at the corpse of a giant spider. “I miss the behemoths.”

“Yeah.” Noctis agreed. “I even miss the tonberries.”

Apparently, for people who had a power that was more than the usual senses, they felt… weird. A good weird. This was how they met elves for the first time.

The female elf drew in a sharp breath as she looked at them, but to her, it seemed to be a welcome surprise. She smiled brightly, warmly, and Noctis couldn’t help but smile back.

“My Lord,” she said and bowed low. The other elves looked at her, taken completely aback, but copied. Noctis tilted his head to the side.

He let his magic bubble up inside of him until it came out with a name. “Galadriel,” he greeted. “It’s nice to meet you.”

She smiled again. “If I may ask-” she gently spoke- “how old are you?”

Noctis tilted his head, confused. Why was she? Anyway, he wanted to give his ‘real’ age, but really - “twenty.” He answered her. “I’m twenty years old.”

Galadriel blinked. “Oh.” There was a sense of utter amazement in her voice, and something told Noctis that was not something that happened very often. She talked only a little louder, but all the elves listened to her next words.

They were all paying careful attention to him.

“May I know the name of the newest Valar?” Several elves choked, others gasped. They stared at him like he grew two heads and was holy at the same time.

The word still didn’t mean anything to him, other than it was what he was now, so he just nodded. “Noctis.”
