Long story short, someone has figured out how to get javascript into FFN user bios. They’re using it to copy that exact same script into other peoples’ bios, spreading it like a virus.

I don’t think I need to say this, because the Good Omens fandom seems to be pretty chill. But I’m going to anyway. As someone who hasn’t been in the fandom since the beginning, but since well before the show was a twinkle in Gaiman’s eye, I’m asking the rest of us book-fandom-members to practice patience and compassion with the flood of new fans we’re about to get. Some of them will only be watching for the actors, or because they liked American Gods and want to see what this other Gaiman project is about. Some of them might not have heard of the book, or Pratchett, or Gaiman, but they watch the show because it looks like it might be interesting.

And what we’re not going to do is gatekeep. We’re not going to tell people they aren’t real fans because they came to it later. We’re not going to tell people they have to read the book. We’re not going to schism and divide into “book fandom” versus “show fandom”.

What we are going to do is watch all these new people being introduced to the world and the characters for the first time, and remember how it felt when it was us reading the book for the first time. How we laughed at the jokes we understood and puzzled over the ones we didn’t. (I still don’t get the principality joke.) How we shipped Aziraphale and Crowley (romantically or platonically) from the moment we saw them on the page together. How this story of humanity and hope affected us, and changed us.

And we’re going to be welcoming, godsdamnit.

I love all of this, but I do have a potential answer to the principality joke, so I hope you don’t mind the hijack.

A Principality is both an angel and a region ruled by a prince. So that might be the answer?

(And side note, I hope the Good Omens fandom gatekeeps as well as the Discworld fandom does. In that the Discworld fandom- I’ve heard said- gatekeeps as well as Ankh-Morpork- they take them in and before they know it they’re part of the city. I’m not in either, but I do love all of it.)

That is an idea. I’m not entirely sure how it would go though.

For Titan, this will be the first time he’s truly and fully awake in millennia (at least in this particular branch of the AU). He’s had moments over the years, but he hasn’t been fully conscious since catching the Meteor. I’m not sure he’d be in the right headspace for something like that.

Ramuh, on he other hand, maybe. Ramuh’s a dreamwalker and visiting the young Oracle would be easy.

Whether or not Luna would listen, I don’t know. Leviathan wouldn’t let her sink into denial, wouldn’t let her close her eyes and turn away from the truth. Ramuh, though, is an impartial Judge. I imagine he would drop hints and give her clues to tempt her into rethinking what she knows - but what she knows is something that’s been drilled into her since she was a child.

Ravus, on the other hand, has been pretty much ‘fuck the prophecy’ from day one. But his idea of fuck the prophecy is to die as the Chosen King so that Luna doesn’t have to die (which…doesn’t really make sense given what we know of the Oracle’s role in the Prophecy…). Personally, I’m of the opinion that Ravus doesn’t really like Gentiana. He knows she’s a Messenger, knows that his mother respected and trusted her, knows that his sister cares for her. But he also knows that Gentiana told his sister she was going to die. And trained her to do it. So he doesn’t really like Gentiana, doesn’t really trust her the way his mother did and the way his sister does. He’s wary of the Astrals because they demand the life of his sister for a Prophecy that he believes in.

Because while not the Oracle, he is of the Oracle’s line and he was raised to have faith in the Prophecy same as everyone else, was raised to understand what the Prophecy meant. And the end goal of the Prophecy is good - Ravus wants that just as much as the rest of humanity. He’s just not convinced the ends justify the means.

So it’d probably be easier to go through Ravus than Luna. If you could get him to trust the Astrals.

My impression of Ravus is that Ravus believes in the existence of astrals the way you’d believe in the sky or in the sun - they exist, they’re tangible objects, what’s to argue about? But he doesn’t believe in them the way Luna does; he doesn’t believe in benevolent gods, he acknowledges that they are beings of - significant power, but he doesn’t really believe in a way that equates to worship.

And Leviathan is. Kinda torn. Because on the one hand, Ravus is a brat, but on the other, that is exactly the kind of attitude she wished more people held towards the astrals. Not as gods. Not as inherently benevolent, or all-knowing or all-powerful. They were made, created, to be guardians - but so few remember, even amongst themselves.

Mostly, Leviathan is amused that she could probably wander right on by Ravus in her human disguise, loudly munching on a hot dog, and Ravus would never figure out who she was.

If Ravus ever finds himself by the sea-shore, relatively alone, however - he might find a very, very strange individual walking out of the sea to talk with him. Just to sound him out. Just to get a feel for him, and where he stands.

(Leviathan is of the opinion that someone needs to pull the stick out of Ravus’ ass and dropkick him into either an amusement park or an orgy, because hell, this kid needs to have fun and loosen up a bit. If he ever happens to drown, she’d probably pick him up in a hot second and then let her children adopt this infuriating stubborn man for as long as they could shower affection on him).
