The Scottish Play, but it’s set in a fast food restaurant and everyone’s killing each other over who gets to be the manager and its played completely straight

McBeth

so i just learned that this is already a thing that exists and christopher walken plays macduff, and i desperately need to watch this movie

Holy shit. I remember that one. The witches are portrayed by 3 garbagemen and instead of saying “when Birnham Wood to Dunsinane comes”, they say he’ll be defeated “when pigs fly”. This is fulfilled when a police helicopter lands on the roof.

My favourite thing about this post is folks in the notes going “no, that’s wrong, it was Richard Armitage as Macduff, not Christopher Walken”, then slowly coming to the horrified realisation that there’s actually more than one early 2000s Shakespeare adaptation with this basic premise.

(The one with Walken is 2001′s Scotland, PA, while the one with Armitage is episode two of 2005′s ShakespeaRe-Told, for the curious.)

Before I head back to bed:

Reveal AU where there’s footage of a man during the fall of Galahd with wind and purple magic swirling around him and he meets the eyes of someone in the shadows and raises his hand and in the distance Ramuh appears

The footage cuts out after that and when the footage comes to light it keeps people wondering who that man is because he has to be part of the royal family he has to be

Meanwhile Selena is just staring at Ace because her memory of that day is horrible but she’s pretty sure that she saw something like that now that she thinks about it and that afterwards Ace had hauled her to her feet and they ran off

@sparklecryptid

Ace is denying the mere *existence* of that video. What do you mean that individual looks like him? No, it’s not him. He doesn’t have magic, right? Right. Now, let’s get back to more important things, like mixing these drinks for table seven…

Selena: *Isn’t buying it*.

Great questions!  Sorry for the late response, you probably know from Discord that my immune system was being a brat again.

So after the initial reunion, Ardyn is going to have a lot of emotional baggage to work through (that’s his nibling, the boy he thought forever lost to him, the boy he thought his brother had raised to hate him or at least forget him) (and his only true friend in recent memory is back too, the man he watched fade away as he remained unchanged, frozen in time, eternal).  But he also can’t work through it immediately.  There are hundreds, if not thousands of children, traumatized children with impossible memories and a massive language barrier, children who need homes and medical attention and therapy and care.  So he gets those things for them, coordinates with Child Services and hospitals and clerks and the Resistance, works himself to the bone to get these children what they need.

And then, when the worst is past, when these children have a future—

He crashes.

He tucks himself into a cot in the lab and shakes and cries and desperately tries not to think.

He’s alone—but not for long.

First, it’s Leo who slips in to check on him, who knows that Ardyn will neglect himself for their benefit.  It’s Leo who sees the state he’s in, and thinks no, not on my watch.

It’s Leo who finds Prompto.  And it’s Prompto who drags as many of his siblings as he can find to Ardyn’s little corner, who sits outside the door and leads them all in a song he half-remembers from his childhood, a simple rhyme that reminds him of home.

And Ardyn hears, gets up, opens the door, and lets them in.

Ardyn falls asleep with Prompto tucked against his chest, the others in cots around them.

In the morning, he’ll finalize the last details.  But for now, he sleeps, knowing he’s loved for the first time in many, many years.
