Nyx just stares at the portrait and suddenly sees the family resemblance and then he waits.

Because despite what other people think, he is very good at waiting. So he waits, and then his shift is over and he books it to drag Libertus to the portrait where the following ensues:

Libertus: Why are we staring at a picture of the King and his father?

Nyx: Look closer.

Libertus: What am I looking for- Oh- Oh.

Nyx: So I’m not the only one that sees it?

Libertus: *softly* what the fuck

And then Nyx rushes the fuck home and stares at an increasingly concerned Ace until Nyx finally blurts out “I know who your Dad is.”

And Ace freezes.
