Oooh, hadn’t thought of that. But my first impulse is since they usually have no witnesses because they never intend them to survive they’re usually either loners or around someone they trust enough to do weird stuff without worrying about having to explain it (Axis never asks why Ardyn can use magic just like Nox, it’s not with the headache), anytime they have Other witnesses, they know ahead of time and prepare accordingly. Either Ardyn will already have his sword and spear out and sheathed on his person (he uses the most ancient and ornate spear as a walking stick) or Ardyn will pull off one of his flawless vanishing acts until just before the battle, waltz in with his sword out and stuff and make something up about having left his sword in the hotel like the troll he is.
If it really, really is an unexpected witness, like running into a Crownsguard or something while blowing up Nif bases, then yes, Nox will toss one of his weapons over to Ardyn as a temporary loan.
