https://ift.tt/2PPTJb3hell yeah! right okay my first album was ulysses dies at dawn, and i read along w/ the lyrics on the website as i listened to it :0 but! there’s some recordings of actual performances if you wanna watch one of those first! here’s one playlist, and here’s another! honestly, id say first listen to whatever album strikes your fancy the most (be sure to listen in order, there’s exposition/spoken word segments between songs that are important!)
here’s some info abt the albums, also theyre all sci-fi and queer:
once upon a time (in space) is a mishmash of european fairytales but as an interstellar revolution against a tyrant king (bandcamp link)
ulysses dies at dawn is a dystopian take on greek mythology with intense noir vibes! (bandcamp link)
high noon over camelot is a post-apocalyptic wild west take on the arthurian mythos (bandcamp link)
the bifrost incident is a cosmic horror train mystery with norse mythology (bandcamp link)
those are the full albums, but there’s also smaller songs in the tales to be told albums (first album bandcamp) (second album link) and the 9 minute retelling of frankenstein (bandcamp link). (also, this post is the only place i’ve found the songs from gunpowder tim vs the moon kaiser separated, if anyone wanted those!)
finally, here’s the somewhat butchered remains of the death to the mechanisms stream, with quite a few big chunks missing due to connection issues. however!! they are going to be releasing a full recording of dttm soon, so look out for that!
here’s the page for the crew members (the main personas of the performers- like. jonny sims plays jonny d’ville who plays ulysses in udad, for example).
and! there’s snippets of fiction for some of the albums, as well as the crew!
okay link spam over- have fun listening to the mechs anon! and if anyone has anything to add to this, please do!
