My family is in pieces. The situation is….bad

Okay, so the whole situation has been awful. I’m trying my hardest to find a job (I have a super promising job interview coming up!) and in the meantime I’m DoorDashing to pay my bills. Raven has officially filed her claim for disability from the VA, and it’s hopefully being fast-tracked.

We got approved to move into a studio apartment (well, it doesn’t have a kitchen, just a microwave and a fridge, but I have an induction cooktop) and move in on the 17th! The Veterans Resource Center really helped us a lot, and are covering the deposits and first months rent. We have stuff, but we have no FURNITURE. The VRC is going to attempt to get us a bed, but who knows when that will happen?

In the meantime, my sister is stuck in prison for the forseeable future. She has limited resources and has been treated terribly. She suffers from asthma and severe depression, and hasn’t had any of her medications for this in over a month! These fuckers “lost” her meds during her transit from Minden to Las Vegas. She could quite literally die, and hasn’t even seen a doctor yet! This was her first offense, and it was a non-violent crime. She took a plea deal for probation in order to aid the investigation in bringing in the ringleader to the crime (incriminating herself in the process), and the judge ignored everyone’s advice and sentenced her to two to four years in prison. Today, her caseworker took the house arrest paperwork Ashley had filled out and ripped it up her in face, telling her that she refused to file it. Ashley is miserable, and sick, and anything helps.

So I’m throwing some links and info out here. If you can help in any way, we all very much appreciate it (even if it’s just a letter encouraging her, or signal boosting this post. Do not dismiss the value of small acts of kindness!). Baba, my father, has chronic leukemia. On Wednesday, he received a bone marrow transplant. Today begins his fourth day of chemotherapy. The insurance will not cover the mandatory 100 days he will be staying in the hospital nor the hospital’s hotel room, where he must be looked after 24/7.

Another possibility is bronchitis, which is what I currently have and apparently has been goinf around my area. Bronchitis generally starts with a fever and a cough, and then turns into a cough that lasts for most people 2-3 weeks. The cough is “productive” meaning you cough up phlegm, as opposed to the dry cough of coronavirus. If you have a persistent cough and are worried, go to urgent care or your GP. The biggest different is that bronchitis is inflamation of your bronchial tubes, wheras coronavirus inflames your lungs (bc it causes/is similar to pneumonia). The doctor will listen to your lungs to see if they cound congested or not
