Excuse me, I now have the mental image of a dagger made from one of Leviathan’s teeth/fangs, and I have to go scour the internet for images thereof…

YES.

They were made by some of Leviathan’s first children, the beginning of the Drowned. One of her bolder children asked for one of her fangs - and she thought why not? She has plenty and they always grow back. And then she is presented with a set of beautifully crafted crystal knives, but the largest is hers. Hers in a way the others aren’t because it’s made of her fang. Intricately carved and polished to shine, obviously lovingly and carefully crafted, Leviathan accepts the First Gift from her First Children. She has them to this day, used with care and preserved and protected with a touch of magic.

Guess I have my non-answer about what she even uses them for.

A dagger from one of Leviathan’s teeth? That sounds like a weapon used for killing a monster, or maiming another Astral or Messenger…

…Wait, is this something that dates back to the War of the Astrals, possibly? A dagger-blade made from a Tooth of the Sea sounds like a very potent Anti-Infernian weapon…

The blade made from Leviathan’s tooth was 100% used in the Astral War. It was absolutely her weapon when she fought Ifrit.

Here’s a thought: Ardyn is the only other person that Thalassa has ever allowed to carry her dagger. Her dagger, forged from a crystalline fang and carefully-polished bone, her dagger, which was her personal weapon during the War of Astral’s Fall - 

Her weapon. And, through the countless aeons, of all mortals who ever were or might yet be - only her son, her tide-son, has been allowed to wield it.
