Yes yes these are glorious options, but also consider. Because part of the fun of a ‘OC/SI is this character’s unknown kid’ is the reactions of said parent. And maybe. Just maybe. We could have Cor and Ardyn both reacting to the fact that they have a kid that they never knew existed. Because, after all -
Remember just who is Ardyn’s ‘Prompto’? His definitely-not-a-friend-but-knows-the-most-about-me-more-then-anyone-in-the-world? Who is probably his personal doctor, has access to all the biological samples, and canonically tinkers with cloning and genetic engineering?
Verstael freaking Besithia, that’s who.
Who is also *just* the right shade of bugnuts to try and combine the literal Accursed’s DNA with that of the Lucian King’s ‘pet Immortal’, to 1) Create the most deadly entity on the face of the planet! and 2) See what would happen, for SCIENCE!
…he also views said test tube baby as a ‘success!’ after said subject successfully escapes the labs at a precociously young age and vanishes without a trace.
Ardyn and Cor, on separate continents, just about swallow their tongues when the information hit their respective desks (one obtained from Verstael breaking into Ardyn’s office to rant about his ‘success in creating the Ultimate Warrior!’ and one from spy reports on said rant) that they have a son.
And thus, the hunt is on.
(Said SI/OC is very unimpressed and probably applies for. I don’t know, a library position or work in a bookshop in Lestallum or something. Something quiet, with Lots Of Soothing Books, where they don’t have to interact with people very much. Like. At all. I’m seeing them practically being Good Omens Aziraphale-like in how very much they Do Not Want To Sell/Loan Books To Actual People. They make full use of the Leonis Deadpan Glare and the Izunia Bullshitting Skills to keep those books on the shelves.)

hamelin_bornYes!! Yes!! I adore the idea of Verstael just. Deciding to tinker with the DNA of two of some of the most deadly people on Eos to see if he can create a sort of- Ultimate Warrior. Just, that’s such a thing him to do.
Also why do I feel like this OC Insert would suit being named Artemis? I feel like thats a good name for him.
So Artemis it is! And I’m just. Seeing Cor and Ardyn meeting each other half way to Lestallum and they both just. Stare at each other and there’s a tension that’s born of ‘he’s an enemy so i should kill him but also /i have a kid to think of now fuck what would my kid think if i murdered their other parent?/’
I can totally see him preferring the solitude of books and hot drinks and warm things to like. interacting with people. he hates interacting with humans and he’s pretty bad at it, the izunia charm went out the window and got replaced with the awkward teenage leonis gene.
that being said, he probably made up a fake parent that he says checks on him but whoops he’s like 16 and has been living on his own for the past like seven years.
(Also now i’m just, seeing Cor and Ardyn showing up at the bookstore he works at run by a man who is more a collector than bookseller and none of the books are actually for sale but the tea and baked goods are and Artemis takes one look at the Immortal and Ardyn /at his workplace/ and goes NOPE.
He cannot NOPE out of there however, as his parents are blocking the entrances and he has a feeling trying to flee would be a Bad Idea.)
(he totally winds up trying to warp past them but Ardyn catches him mid air. just. plucks artemis out of the air as he comes out of the warp the way you catch a cat thats trying to escape getting its nails trimmed.

Except this Artemis really tends to avoid hunting - yes yes, he does it on occasion to raise some extra cash, but it’s not his profession/life ambition. It’s a good name! Although - snickers. Artemis might. not have been thinking about the mythological Artemis when he chose that name, but rather Artemis Fowl II, from the Artemis Fowl books.
The Izunia charm is not in the picture, but the Izunia Bullshitting Skills are. Pair that with the Leonis Deadpan, and you get someone who tells you the most outrageous things with a totally straight face, and you honestly can’t tell whether or not he’s yanking your chain.
Artemis has found a Safe Place Of Books where he is gainfully employed, is working his way through an online degree, and Will Not Put Up With This Bullshit, Thank You. His attempt to escape the Oncoming Drama was a totally rational response!
(Also, he tends to avoid the Tomb of the Mystic like the plague. Artemis Does Not Want To Think about what might happen to him if that family reunion ever takes place. As it is, he’s already picked up the blade of the Wanderer - and that was by accident.)
Artemis is a Surly Cat as his parents try to figure out what to do with him - and with each other. The only thing his parents agree on is that their son cannot live like this.
As someone who lived in a deep middle school obsession with the Artemis Fowl books I must say that although I like the idea of him choosing the name for himself based off of that I’m thinking that he probably got asked his name and went ‘shit i need a name im not in the labs anymore’ and then he thought ‘oh shit’ and it was night and he was found by some hunters so he looked to the sky and went
‘my name is artemis?’ and it sounded more like a guess.
And oh most definitely, I feel like Artemis while not exactly charming isn’t exactly awkward either. It’s just that he’s rather blunt and his tongue is sharp and he doesn’t exactly like people so that makes him appear- kind of rude? but he does care about people, he’s just grumpy about it.
also I do like the idea of him working through an online degree and he’s really good at academics and he chose working in a bookstore because it was quiet and one of the only places who would hire him and also because he got discounts on his textbooks thank you.

also *snicker. I’m thinking of Cor’s reaction to the fact his kid just warped and its. amazing. and then he looks at ardyn and ardyn doesn’t look surprised as he plucks their kid out of the air as he reappears from a warp.
Cor: *jumps to a bunch of Not True conclusions* ….
Ardyn: *cheeky grin*
and yes, they both agree that Artemis cannot live like this, and Cor is- almost surprised that Ardyn doesn’t protest when Cor offers for Artemis to come live in Insomnia
Ardyn: I turned Niflheim’s science department into smoldering ruins, I’m fairly certain I’m not allowed back.
Artemis approval: +30
Cor approval: +15
and lo! Cor comes back to Insomnia with a former chancellor and a kid.
Regis meanwhile is bouncing internally because he’s going to get to meet Cor’s kid yesssssssssss.
and then he sees Ardyn with them and goes noooooooooo now I have to politic.

Artemis, much to everyone’s surprise, takes ghosts and ghost stories Extremely Seriously. After that one ghost slammed a sword through his chest that one time, he’s of the opinion that ghosts are Out To Get Him. While most people might dismiss this as a quirk of character, they’re also surprised by how seriously Cor take’s Artemis’s paranoia of ghosts - look, Cor has also gone up against a Fighty Ghost, he knows better than to dismiss this stuff.
It can be both! Artemis could have chosen his name almost at random when inspired by necessity and the sight of the stars arching above him - but later on, he’ll seriously tell everyone he named himself after Artemis Fowl. Although he’s basically nothing like said literary character, he - likes the expressions it inspires in everyone.
Artemis has no time for drama - uh-uh. No way. There is no drama allowed in his life, he’s already gone though his allotted Share of Drama before he was seven, there is No Drama Allowed! …trolling, however, is allowed. And aw, a blunt, grumpy Artemis is - cute, almost. It’s a combination of a pouting Ardyn and a grumpy Cor, and he just. Well, makes Ardyn want to coo over his ‘kitten’.
Cid starts laughing and doesn’t stop when he meets Artemis. He just. It’s a tiny Cor! With the Nif ex-Chancellor as another parent! This is - this is gold. And he also earns Artemis’s grudging respect by not forcing him into social interactions and offering to tell him stories of when Cor was little.
And Regis is just - so many ups and downs. It’s a tiny Cor! But - there’s the ex-Chancellor! Who is also tiny Cor’s parent! But Tiny Cor is so cute aww, lookout him pout like that!
…Ardyn ends up moving into Cor’s apartment with Artemis. For Reasons. Artemis, bluntly: Are you two getting married?
Ardyn: …maybe.
Cor: It would solve the issue of your Lucian Citizenship.
