OMG it all fits. Hades!Grindelwald has Meg!Graves captive, forcing him to advance his evil agenda - but he makes a fatal mistake when he orders a Very Unimpressed Graves to seduce Hercules!Newt.
Graves: (deadpan) Hello. I am here to seduce you.
Newt: …okay?
Cue a Graves gleefully trading quips with earnest!Newt, finding, much to his surprise, he LIKES this Absolute Disaster of a human being, and Newt really IS very cute…

And then a hand lands on his shoulder and he turns to see Newt’s beaming face and - Newt’s choosing him? …really? No one’s ever chosen Percival Graves before, and he’s so stunned and disbelievingly happy.
