Okay but-
Let’s make it a Reveal AU too. Noctis, when things get explained to him, gets why he and Gladio are there. That doesn’t explain why a bartender and a Glaive are there.
Meanwhile, Nyx is giving Ace a Look.
Ace: “Okay, Prince Regis, you remember that time you stopped in Galahd?”
Regis: “Oh, OH! But that means- Your Katrina’s?”
Ace: “Surprise.”
Nyx: “Please tell me you are not implying what I think you are implying.”
Ace: “I am implying that Regis is my father.”
Nyx: “Well, shit.” They are Going to Talk later about how This is Important Information Ace and You could have told me Ace.
Noctis: “That makes you my brother.”
Ace: “Half-brother. But yes.”
Noctis refuses to get starry-eyed. But he does look like he’s one second away from jumping up and down.
Gladio meanwhile is staring at Nyx.
Gladio: “Thought the spell only worked on the royals and their Shields.”
Nyx: “Yeah, well, I’m no Shield.”
Ace, realization dawning on his face: “Fuck. I’m going to kill uncle.”
Nyx: “…Why?” What did he do? is implied.
Ace: “Remember how you vowed to protect me during our wedding? That could have been taken as the Vow of a Shield to their Prince.”
Nyx: “And you’re just telling me this now?”
Ace: “It didn’t occur to me until just now! It wasn’t like I was ever planning on having a Shield. I zoned out when Uncle gave me the whole ‘And this is how you take a Shield’ speech.”
