Yeah. Granted, Castiel was being manipulated by Metatron at the moment, but still. Richie just makes it a point to stay as far away from all of them as possible. They do not want to ask him why, because if they did?
They would unleash the most epic the Reason You Suck Speech that ever was.

So proud of my mother for doing her own research after I sent her that meme. A sign she hung in her car window.

Is this true?
Not only is it true, it gets worse. The Susan G Komen For The Cure Foundation has actually successfully sued “competing” charities, because (paraphrasing) their “message or branding was infringing.”
You read that correctly: they took money that people had donated to cure cancer, and hired attorneys with it, to sue ANOTHER group of people trying to find a cure for cancer, who, in turn, had to us their donated money to hire their own legal counsel to defend themselves.
Yeah signal boost because not enough people know about this and seriously FUCK SUSAN G. KOMEN THEY ARE THE ACTUAL WORST

My mother died in 1996 from breast cancer. Most cancer charities are scams, in that people throw fancy parties and get rich off them and very little money goes into research or support for patients. Here are some vetted cancer charities that get good scores on Charity Navigator and pay medical expenses or fund research:
Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Cancer Research Institute
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
63 four star rated cancer charities on charity navigator

Reblogging from myself because it’s October now
Guys my mom is a 12 year breast cancer survivor and will tell you flat out don’t donate to Susan G Komen. If anything donate to the American Cancer Society
Plus this year Susan G Komen has begun to sue other campaigns who use the word “cure.” I know this because my mom is in many support groups for cancer survivors and regularly search for any news about it
My sorority’s philanthropy is breast cancer awareness. So every year we’d help out with one or two Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure events (normally building the start and finish balloon arches). When we found out the truth about that organization, we were all devastated. Most of our charity money would go to the Susan G. Komen organization rather than a lesser known one (it was easier at the time). And this wasn’t just my chapter of the sorority. It was the entire sorority. So imagine hundreds of thousands of members finding out that this organization to help with the fight against breast cancer was all one big fat lie. That almsot all of the money we raised and forked over to them went straight into their pockets. That we had travelled, woken up at 3-4am, worked and even participated in events for a bullshit organization like this for years and it wasn’t even putting a dent in our philanthropy. A bunch of my friends had relatives and loved ones die to breast cancer and this organization just used it as a get rich quick scheme. That had to be the lowest you can possibly go. Needless to say the entire sorority no longer participated in anything related to Susan G. Komen.
This is a long post but guys, do research on ANY organization before giving them money to get an idea of how your money is being spent. THERE ARE SO MANY BREAST CANCER SCAM COMPANIES!
Think about it! If all these companies were actually telling the truth with funding breast cancer, don’t you think we’d have a break through or be on the brink of one with so many organizations claiming to donate so much money towards breast cancer?
Don’t forget October is has SO MANY other awareness events going on as well (domestic violence, infant loss, add /adhd, lgbt history, etc.)
Keep in mind when you buy anything where a portion of the proceeds go to charity- If it’s more than 10% or more, that’s considered a big percentage for a charity-partnering product. If it’s .5%, maybe skip it if you’re thinking of buying it primarily for charitable reasons.

I feel like I should make a post about this because it’s not something that’s very well-known, and that Americans in particular may need to know about given the uncertain state of our healthcare system at the moment. I’ve wanted to write this out for a while, It’s kind of a long post, so sorry about that!
If you have an emergency and have to go to the hospital, you’ll owe the hospital a lot of money.(I got into a car wreck and broke my ankle and my arm. My hospital bill was around $20,000)
You’ll also owe the ambulance provider, if you need one.(My ambulance bill was about $800)
You may get separate bills from the anesthesiologist or surgeon.(My anesthesiologist bill was $1,700)
You may need follow-up appointments.(My orthopedic surgeon billed me for the appointments and his surgery together and it was about $1,000)
You’ve also got to pay for medical equipment you need afterward, like crutches or a walking boot.(Mine cost about $75)
Altogether, I ended up with almost $24,000 in medical debt from one car accident. That’s a really scary number for someone like me who makes $10/hr at a 12 hour a week job.
I got my debt down to $1075 by making some phone calls and submitting some paperwork.
The first thing I did was contact the hospital. They don’t make it easy to find, but many hospitals (perhaps most hospitals?) have financial assistance programs for people who can’t afford medical bills. I don’t make a lot of money, and I have bills to pay, so they were able to help me.
I called the billing department and asked if they had any assistance programs for low income people who can’t pay their bills. I had to call multiple times, and I got transferred in circles by people who didn’t know what I was talking about. Finally, I got an appointment with someone in “Eligibility Services” (I don’t know what other hospitals call it, if it’s something different). I had to bring my pay stubs and copies of all of my bills. When I got to the hospital for the appointment, nobody knew what I was talking about so I had to wander a little to find where I needed to go. I spoke with the guy in Eligibility Services, and I waited for a decision on how much of the bill they would forgive. A month later, I got a call telling me it was totally forgiven.
I did the same thing for my ambulance bill and my anesthesiologist, but the process was a LOT easier. I just had to mail some paperwork and it was totally forgiven.
I didn’t bother with the medical equipment suppliers, since the bills came from separate companies and I didn’t feel like going through the process twice for $75. I was assured at the hospital that they had similar programs for debt forgiveness, so I could have probably avoided paying that too.
The only thing I couldn’t get taken care of was the surgeon/follow-up appointment cost, but they were able to put me on a no-interest payment plan.
Medical debt is scary because it’s something that can come from stuff that’s already really scary. I didn’t need the burden of $24,000 in debt on top of trying to get around on a crutch with a broken arm (it’s not easy, believe me!).. but I can’t imagine what it would be like with a bigger debt or a more severe medical emergency.
I see lots of people in even worse trouble than I was in, both financially and medically. Please know that there are options for you when that GoFundMe doesn’t do enough. Even if your income is higher than mine, it’s worth a shot even for partial debt forgiveness.
I am about 900% sure there are people who don`the know this.

gardening has this reputation as a gentle and chill hobby but you know what?? gardening is actually a constant and brutal conflict between the human need for control and the will of life to spread - a battle between life and death itself, even. in the garden I am the Overlord Supreme, Peerless Queen of the Dirt, Arbiter Above All, the ultimate and final judge over who gets to live and who must die. I drowned an entire anthill today for daring to exist in my realm, and the blood of hundreds has soiled my soul. my thumbs may be green but my hands are black and deadly.
This explains more about Samwise Gamgee than anything else I have ever read.

Another snippet from the castlevania time loop au.
The blood he had been forced to swallow burned as it devoured him from the inside. Already, he could feel his nails lengthening. The whip burned in his hand, but he tightened his grip on it. He couldn’t fail now.
Across from him, Dracula laughed. Edged with grief and madness, it made the hair on the back of his neck rise. His heart would have jumped, but it was already slowing, nearly stopping. It would soon.
“Soon,” Dracula hissed. “You will become like me. You turned my son against me and so I have turned you. You will become a perversion of what your family stood for.”
He could feel his heart stop. It did not start up again.
The hunger came suddenly, a blazing rush of thirst that caused his suddenly sharp teeth to ache.
Dracula laughed again, vanishing in a column of flame.
No.
Sypha was still here, unconscious but alive. He could smell her blood. It made the thirst stronger, his fangs lengthen. He gripped the whip tighter, the burn snapping him out of the haze. He had to leave. Now

Alucard being part of the Belmont’s inheritance
Ahahahaha ha. That actually kind of hurts to think about. Poor Alucard, being handed down the family line and (I’m imagining) being used like a tool/canon-fodder.
I was thinking more like the Belmont’s inherit the coffin with him in it and when they’re not fighting Dracula, they just talk to the coffin about all their problems.
Thank goodness! That’s much better than what I was thinking! Although it still can’t be super pleasant for Alucard being forced to listen to all of the Belmont’s many and varied issues-especially since he can’t do anything to help
I’m assuming he’s in such a deep sleep that their words manifest as dreams. Imagine if one of the Belmonts comes to talk to the coffin and all of a sudden, there’s this groggy voice giving them advice.
Imagine if it’s - not bad advice, but more along the lines of ‘Your great-great-grandfather did this once in response to this. He ended up running for his life from an angry mob while wearing a feather boa and a french maid’s outfit. Don’t do what he did.”

I read the wiki page for Castlevania Legends and the concept of Alucard being Trevor’s dad sounded really interesting, so here have a netflix castlevania au with that concept.
A few years before Lisa died, Alucard met Sonia and they either fell in love or became best friends with benefits. Lisa liked Sonia and Dracula sorta liked her too even though she was a Belmont. They spend a while like that, happy. Then, Lisa dies and Dracula goes nuts.
Alucard decides he has to go stop his dad and sets out to do that, but not before spending the night with Sonia. Of course, then he gets mortally wounded and Dracula buries him under Gresit. While Alucard slowly heals, which takes him forever, Dracula continues terrorizing Wallachia.
Somehow humanity continues to survive during all of this and the Belmonts continue fighting while searching for Dracula’s castle which keeps moving every time they get close. Sonia has a kid, Trevor, whom she teaches how to fight and tells him stories about his father.
Then the churc decides that the Belmonts are the cause of all this, because by this time everyone’s forgotten the real cause, and burn down the Belmont ancestral home. Everyone dies, except Trevor who manages to escape with the whip, the clothes on his back and bunch of his mom’s letters to his father.
Then the events of the show, except darker because demons have been attacking everything since the time Trevor was born.
Then, when he and Sypha wake Alucard up, Trevor remembers his mom’s stories, but still fights Alucard because he’s not sure. Alucard has finally healed and is at full strength, so they reach that stalemate.
And then Alucard introduces himself and Trevor’s like “fuck”
Poor, poor Trevor. And Alucard thinks that Trevor’s just another Belmont from the extremely wide-spread Belmont Clan. Except then it comes out that the Belmonts have been pretty much wiped out except for Trevor, and Alucard is ‘…there was a woman. Sonia Belmont. Did she - what happened to her?’ ‘She, uh, died.’ And Trevor is freaking out because holy shit, floating vampire Jesus is his father, holy holy shit, it’s his grandfather who’s pretty much triggering the apocalypse, this family is so fucked up.

Everyone dies, except Trevor who manages to escape with the whip, the clothes on his back and bunch of his mom’s letters to his father.

yep and while he’s really happy to have found blood family, he’s having a bit of trouble with the fact that he is related to vampires. Although, if he has any powers or sensitivity to sunlight, it makes sense now.
Eventually, Alucard asks him why he’s being weird around him and Trevor just, silently, hands over the letters he has.
Trevor probably hands him the letters and skedaddles to the nearest inn or tree with a good view of the sky because while Trevor is the Last of the Belmonts, a hardened survivor, and a (reluctant) proponent of All Things Right, he is a weak weak man and he is not going to be here for Alucard’s initial realization.

In 1977, Pradyumna Kumar Mahanandia, a poor Indian artist, rode a second-hand bicycle for four months and three weeks from New Delhi to Gothenburg in Sweden to meet his love Charlotte Von Schedvin. He rode his bicycle because he didn’t have enough money to buy an airplane ticket. They married and now have two children.
I just want to point out a thing:
In 1977, the way they got to know each other wasn’t email, because there wasn’t email.

Oxford Update:
Nov. 5th, 2017 09:00 pmvia http://ift.tt/2Andk9h:
accioharo:
After days of tests and too much poking for any kitty, Oxford came home last night.
On Friday 10/27 Oxford began to struggle with his walking. We took him to the vet on Saturday morning (10/28), and after running blood work and not finding anything, they diagnosed him with a potential inner ear infection. Oxford occasionally has mild allergies and had been shaking his head a fair amount, and the vet theorized that may have led to an ear infection.
He was prescribed antibiotics for that as well as an anti-inflammatory for any potential inflammation in his joints. However, his condition continued to worsen until Monday. By Monday night (10/30) he was almost unable to stand. We called our vet and they referred us to an internal medicine specialist, who we visited on Tuesday morning.
While there Oxford underwent general supportive care and received blood work and extensive x-rays. Unfortunately the x-rays did not show anything (which is not unusual in situations like this), so the next step was an MRI.
On Wednesday morning the emergency vet spoke to a veterinary neurologist at the University of Missouri. She suggested that we have Oxford treated down there. This turned out to be the better option because if we had an MRI done locally it would have to be at a human hospital and he wouldn’t be under constant vet care there. Taking him to Mizzou, not only was it under vet care, but any and all treatment could be done there. It was also a slightly cheaper option.
We drove Oxford the two hours down to Mizzou in our car on Wednesday afternoon (luckily he’s never minded car rides and was as relaxed as you see in that photo), and he started diagnosis and treatment Thursday morning.
The MRI and CSL tap showed that the top of Oxford’s spine was hyperintense, and that’s what was causing his inability to walk. This means it was not a slipped disc, as was originally theorized, nor was it a tumor.
We still don’t know what’s wrong with Oxford, but he’s being treated with aggressive antibiotics because it’s most likely an infectious disease of some sort that attacked his spine. These diseases can stay in the system unknowing for years, so even though Oxford’s not an outside cat, he could have contracted it as far back as when he was a stray (we adopted him in 2012).
Tests for these diseases generally take a few days to return, so we won’t have any kind of info until early next week. If it’s not one of those diseases, lymphoma is another candidate, as it’s often very hard to diagnose.
Oxford’s prognosis right now is guarded. We are hoping he responds to the aggressive antibiotic treatment. Right now he is at home and being cared for here, and we hope to keep him here as much as possible.
We brought him home last night, and the vets and students at Mizzou just totally loved him. He got a certificate of sweetness!
In the meantime, the bills ended up being about 3,100 total. This does not include any future care. We could still really, really use help recouping these costs, as we absolutely… did not have the money for this.
I added an image of his Mizzou bill to the youcaring link too.
Remember that if you donate at least 15.00, you can get a ficlet from me! Please message me if you do.
Here he is at home eating dinner as of a few minutes ago! They had to shave part of his neck for the CSL tap, and of course part of his leg for the IV. He’s very embarrassed. But he just ate a HUGE dinner of both wet food and dry food, which is fantastic.

Thank you for helping out and/or signal boosting!!

Ooh, I really, really like that a lot. Imagine Gabriel’s reaction: he meets Maggie and Wentworth and just loves them. And then they end up having a kid together and, welp, look at that Gabriel, she’s yours (because I headcanon Wentworth being ace in this verse). So he’s like, okay, okay, we’re okay, we’re cool, I know just where to move us so that my asshole family does not find out about Nancy. So they move to the twin towns of Hawkins/Derry. And Gabriel thinks that this was a one time thing, Nancy is the only one, but then.
He keeps getting Maggie pregnant! And the next time it’s twins! And then another little girl! (He is very, very glad that he suggested moving to Hawkins/Derry. Anywhere else and Heaven and Hell would definitely have noticed four nephilim no matter how many protections he put into place around them).
I do like that. Nancy takes after her uncle Mikey in that she runs hot, Richie has his dad’s Trickster nature, Mike tends to be a support for his friends and maybe anyone whose feeling under the weather starts to feel better around him and Holly? Well, she’s only four right now, but when she has temper tantrums, pipes in the house tend to freeze solid and then Maggie and Wentworth have to call Gabriel to please fix it. Luckily she is a sweet natured child so it does not happen often.
Gabriel, unlike his Dad, is very, very careful not to play favorites. Because he knows just how badly that ended for his family and besides, he loves all of his kids so, so much.

Yeah. Granted, Castiel was being manipulated by Metatron at the moment, but still. Richie just makes it a point to stay as far away from all of them as possible. They do not want to ask him why, because if they did?
They would unleash the most epic the Reason You Suck Speech that ever was.

“Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must NEVER let them take it from us. I hope that whoever you are, you escape this place. I hope that the worlds turns, and that things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you.”
