Jango: I mean, if I went around sayin’ I was Mand’alor just because some aruetii had lobbed a beskad at me they’d put me away!

Satine: Shut up! Will you shut up!

Jango: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.

Satine: Shut up!

Jango: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! HELP! HELP! I’m being repressed!

Several years later…

Jango: -and that was how I lost my Mandalorian citizenship.

Y’know, out of curiosity - does anyone know if anyone ever wrote a fic/worldbuilt a story where Han is Obi-Wan’s son?

Not that I’ve seen, but that is a very intriguing concept. I’m imagining Vader just about having a stroke.

Meanwhile, Han is just. Happily (and ignorantly!) smuggling/gallivanting around the Galaxy. And yeah, maybe the Imps seem to have a somewhat larger then normal bounty on his head, but, hey! Business is business, and business is booming!

…also, I like the idea that Han, Obi-Wan’s son, has all the Force-Sensitivity of a rock. Just. Han making his way across the galaxy through sheer skill and luck, and not because of some ‘mystical force’. (To further compound Vader’s absolute stroke…)

The bounty is also, very curiously, very strict about him being brought in alive.

Because Obi-Wan stole Vader’s child from him, it’s only fair that he take his.

Look, if there is one thing that Han is good at, it’s running, hiding, and staying alive. He’s not even all that curious about the bounty - just one more in a dozen or so in as many star systems. He’s faintly intrigued at the ‘alive’ part, but not enough to look into it.

Hmmmm, I like the idea but I can’t quite figure out a timeline for it? Because Mors would have been Very Old when Luche was born and the age gap between Luche and Regis is like 20+ years or something so that reads more like a father-son gap to me rather than a brother-brother age gap.

Hmmmmmm *pokes timeline* if I shifted a few things I think I could make that work though. Age Luche up a few years. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Ace would. Like. Ace totally would. Jean would too tbh. As would my Newest Royal Bastard Atlas.

Come to think of it, I can see Alma sprouting off a few songs if he’s in the Right Mood too.

Hadestown is a gem of a musical and I have a feeling most of my OCs would sing at least a few songs from it.

“You know it’ll kill me eventually,” Atlas says, turning back to face Cid and crossing his arms, “You know I won’t be able to take any missions outside the city if this works.”

“A risk a King would take,” Cid challenges, “You are hardly the only skilled Glaive out there. Hell, you’re not even a Glaive.”

“I’m not a King either,” Atlas agrees, stepping out from behind the counter where he distributes potions, “But I can’t let people suffer needlessly. If this works, if it can grant people even the smallest amount of safety then I’ll do it.”

Cid nods, and Atlas pretends not to see the pride on his face.

“Come on then,” Cid says, “Let’s see if this works.”

Oh gods. Is that - tell me Atlas isn’t putting up a Wall. Tell me that - he’s not putting up a Wall around Hammerhead and/or Lestallum, without the Ring, knowing that this kind of effort is quite literally what killed generations for his forefathers.

Is this set in the Endless Night, pre-Time Travel?

that line from Okoye in Infinity War

holy fuuuuck i want to see M’Baku’s reaction to Wakanda taking part in the Olympics

he would hit. the. fucking. roof. t’challa would start hiding out in shuri’s lab because otherwise M’Baku would be lying in wait for him around every corner, ready to loom over him and bellow about the shame of it, the shame of participating in this disgraceful Western farce run by corrupt bureaucrats and denigrated by colonial governments who force their athletes to cheat, this abomination that achieves naught but squandered resources and the enrichment of the few at the expense of the many.

then when t’challa says that, ‘well, fine, I understand and respect your feelings brother, perhaps the Jabari could stage an act of peaceful protest by refusing to participate? :)’

and fucking smoke issues forth from M’Baku’s nostrils and his eyes turn blood-red and he roars at the top of his lungs that how dare T’Challa try to humiliate his people by suggesting that they not be counted among the top sportsmen in the world, there will be recompense for this insult!!!!!!!

and then he storms off and tells his best warriors to start training right the fuck now before he has them all flayed, and a few months later the Jabari have won gold medals in every event

‘pah. these trinkets mean nothing,’ says M’Baku, wearing seventeen of them

OKAY so I saw this a few days ago and was like “whatever” but then I smashed my phone in a car door, had to clean up some dead baby bunnies in my yard, and have just generally NOT had a good week. I’m fucking spooked and I’m reblogging this twice to get the universe to stop.

I ignored this too and then i got kicked out of my house. Also reblogging twice.

Ohhh yes!! Those reactions would be- something else I think. Because the Eldar are very much about letting things progress naturally and that song goes against it almost.

Have another snippet?

Caladion doesn’t sing when asked. People think the son of Maglor would be glad to sing, to share one of his gifts with the world but he isn’t. He doesn’t sing expect when he wants to or for solemn moments.

Elrond has heard him sing once, sing to his dying neice of peace. He has heard Caladion sing a funereal song as the last of his siblings line died.

Elrond has never heard Caladion sing like this. The song Caladion sings in the Hall of Fire is fierce in it’s own way, defiant. Daring death to try and stop the protagonist from bringing his lover back. There are shades of it that are familiar, familiar in the way the tale of Beren and Luthien is but-

The defiance in this song, the desperate act of one mortal braving death to bring his beloved back. It’s very-

Mortal. And Elrond knows that’s why Caladion chose this song, because the Eldar in the room would understand what love can drive them to do but the idea of going against death as a mortal would be unnatural to them at best.

Blasphemy at worst. Still Caladion sings, and still more people gather.

There is no applause when he’s finished, just murmurs exchanged among those that gathered to listen.

Caladion smiles, almost as though he’s amused.

wish, to hope

No, no, due to my sleep deprived brain misreading it, it’s a badass dinosaur that at least a dozen Mandos have ridden into battle

It embodies the wish that most Mando’ade have of riding an armored dinosaur into battle.

Isn’t that a wish we all have, though? To get a trained armored dinosaur and ride it into battle, preferably while wielding a flamethrower along with a more conventional weapon?

Listen.

Listen.

I have wanted to ride a T-rex into battle since I was like 3, so yes you are entirely correct.

*claps excitedly* oh oh oHHH HAVE A QUICK THING

People pay attention when Caladion stands and walks over to Lindir, a quick exchange of words between the two and Lindir bows, letting Caladion take the stage.

And then he sings, and the remaining chatter in the Hall of Fire dies as the first note hits the air. Caladion sings, songs that are in turn hopeful and forlorn. Bitter and sweet and no less fierce for it. He sings of hunger and choices, or death and defying it. Caladion sings as one come back from the dead and for once those gathered can see the fire of his father’s line burst into life in his eyes.

Caladion sings, and despite it all, each song is almost defiant in it’s own way. Refusal to accept anything less than what they should have, defiant in the face of death and loss and refusing to bow and bend and break. There are songs that are hopeful and songs that are sad and the Eldar in the Hall of Fire felll like they are on the edge of understanding something, of learning what it means to be mortal when the songs stop and Caladion bows and exits the Hall of fire.

More than one person rises to go after him.

(There had been spectres as the peredhel sang, mortals that laughed and danced and mourned and stood in defiance of the natural way of things. There had been a joy to their mortality, one that many Eldar didn’t think that mortals could possess.)

Wholesome

So I don’t know how many of you follow Benjamin Byron Davis on Instagram, but if you’re not, you’re missing out on quite possibly the most wholesome thing I’ve ever read in my entire life.

Benjamin Byron Davis, the actor who played Dutch van der Linde, posted a picture back in September of a text conversation between himself and his mother as she announced she was going to play Red Dead Redemption II. However, other than a failed attempt to play Space Invaders, she’s never played video games. But she wanted to support her son. I present to you this wholesome as fuck updates.

Can we all agree that 1). This is amazingly wholesome, and 2). Cosmo Drisco is the best name ever?
