Just. Nyx finding out that the love of his love is a Lucis Caelum because Ace has scales dancing along his sides

Imagine Jean with scales!

Ooooooooo yes! I do enjoy the idea of Jean with a smattering of scales down his sides and along his spine. And now after all is done I can just see Nyx enjoying dragging Jean close by the hips and rubbing circles over the scales there.
And Jean makes a noise that is almost a purr and slowly relaxes against Nyx’s touch.
#But I am ALSO thinking about a Jean reveal now#where he’s at a press conference as well; part of the press; and king regis is answering questions#and everyone knows that LCs have scales and jean just supposes he’s lucky to have his#in easy places to hide#and then something happens and a sleeve of Jean’s shirt is ripped off#and Jean doesn’t use magic in Insomnia to hide behind because that’s a risk#he doesnt want to take#so his sleeve comes off#because someone tried to take him hostage#and jean just went#nah#and pulled away and socked the dude in the eye#so now the would be hostage taker is on the ground#jean is despairing because he liked this shirt! it was a gift from his dad!#and then he hears a gasp and realizes that people are looking at him#looking at the gold scales running from his wrist to his elbow#ah; jean thinks; fuck

“I have a skin condition.” Jean says hastily, simultaneously thinking shit shit shit I should’ve said I had a tattoo dad is going to *laugh* at me. “I’m very sensitive about it. Don’t quote me. And I think I’m just going to use the restroom please get out of my way - “
Regis et al probably aren’t quite sure about exactly what is causing the ripple in the crowd in front of him, only that the literal King of Insomnia suddenly seems to be taking second place to whatever is drawing the attention of the press. And it’s probably going to take a few minutes until the gossip reaches them, by which point Jean intends to be 1) In a restroom, followed shortly by 2) In a warp with the goal of 3) His apartment.
