This might be really basic of me, but the red and orange ombré gowns are my first thought, without dipping into the more costume-y stuff I always see on pinterest. So I think ombré is the theme for 9 out of the 10 gowns here.  And the first one I couldn’t shake because it reminds me of fire embers and I just love it.

The bearded vulture is the only known animal whose diet consists almost entirely (70-90%) of bone. It is capable of swallowing a sheep’s vertebrae whole. The bird’s stomach acid has been estimated to have a pH of 1, so even large bones are digested within 24 hours.

Christ that’s so metal

They like to push their prey off cliffs to kill them and have been even known to occasionally ambush and eat hikers

@bunjywunjy could do a better job than myself explaining just how metal these birds are

I actually already did! you can find my article on the Bearded Vulture HERE

(FIRE AND BLOOD! FIRE AND BLOOD! FIRE AND BLOOD!)

“I’ll swallow your soul vertebrae!”

@funkzpiel Yep, that’s Jerry.

@charlottedabookworm Think that matches Aris?

Here’s a few shots of the Woody Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara) pieces I’ll have up for this week’s shop update - two pendulums and two prism necklaces.

Woody Nightshade, as the name suggests, is a poisonous herb related to tomatoes. In the middle ages this plant was thought to be protective against magic, and garlands of it were considered protective charms.

All four pieces will be available for this week’s shop update Sunday, April 14th at around 12pm EST!

*snicker* Just. Thalassa, coming out of the water. Thalassa, whom some people mistake for a statue like this - until she moves.

(Thalassa totally does this deliberately.)

This is my new favorite hangout spot. I walked here from home with a cup of tea and my watercolor supplies. A floating dock out of the reach of sun or rain floats underneath the marina. And it has friends. 😍

Quick note: half of my files decided not to import into Vegas, so I had to hunt out clips on YouTube and rip them, so apologies for the Gwen quality.

The Fantasy POC edition of “Wicked Girls” is a go! As to the Sci Fi edition…I don’t know if it’s happening. I had so much trouble with the files this time, and I’m having even more trouble with the sci fi files that I may just give up on it. Don’t count on me finishing that one, is all I’m saying.

Besides, I live and breathe fantasy over sci fi anyway.

Anna Maria and Tia Dalma (Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy)
Guinevere (Merlin)
Persephone (Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief)
Isabella (Galavant)
Mulan (Once Upon a Time)
Dido (Belle)

Song is “Wicked Girls Saving Ourselves” by Seanan McGuire, as found on her CD WICKED GIRLS, which can be purchased on CDBaby.

As a side note: this will probably be my last post on this blog. I’ve moved to a different username for personal reasons. I have no current plans to delete this blog, but I won’t be around on it.

Thank you for your understanding.

In this photo, the bird’s wing acts as a diffraction grating—a surface structure with a repeating pattern of ridges or slits. The structure causes the incoming light rays to spread out, bend and split into spectral colors, producing this shimmering rainbow effect. By Victor Tyakht
