A Florida teenager who survived the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, Florida, issued a rousing call to action at a rally against gun violence.

Emma Gonzalez declared that the shooting at her school should be “the last mass shooting.”

And she responded directly to Trump’s tweet, which blamed students at the school for not reporting on the shooter’s behavior before the event.

“We did,” Gonzalez said, “time and time again, since he was in middle school.”

“We need to pay attention to the fact that this isn’t just a mental health issue,” she continued. “He wouldn’t have harmed that many students with a knife.”

“How about we stop blaming the victims for something that was the shooter’s fault?” she demanded, and called out those who do deserve to shoulder that blame.

“[The people] who let him buy the guns in the first place. Those at the gun shows. The people who encouraged him to buy accessories for his guns to make them fully automatic. The people who didn’t take them away from him when they knew that he expressed homicidal tendencies. And I am not talking about the FBI. I am talking about the people that he lived with, I’m talking about the neighbors who saw him outside holding guns.”

And Gonzalez again did not let Trump’s responsibility go unremarked upon

“If the president wants to come up to me and tell me to my face that it was a terrible tragedy, and how it should never have happened, and maintain telling us that nothing is going to be done about it, I’m going to happily ask him I’m going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association.”

Gonzalez then called attention to the $30 million spent by the NRA in support of Trump in the 2016 presidential election, and how that translates onto each life lost to gun violence.

“That comes out to being $5800. Is that how much these people are worth to you, Trump?” She asked.

“To every politician who has taken donations from the NRA: Shame on you!”

The crowd erupted into a loud chant, echoing her cry: “Shame on you!”

Emma Gonzalez and her Florida community are not allowing Trump, the Republican Party, or the NRA to intimidate them into silence. They are speaking up to defend their families, and shaming those who enable this epidemic of violence.

so, if youve been reading my personal posts (if you havent but want to know whats been happening check the pesky talks tag on my blog) you probably know that my circumstances have changed dramatically over the past month or so.

among other things, my mother has kicked me out, and my sister, whod let me live on her couch forever, only has two rooms plus a kitchen for herself and her two kids. another adult living there is at best a temporary solution and while ive got something going on that should get me a cheap apartment, that could take up to 2 ½ years. we cant live on top of each other for that long.

due to the cost of moving my stuff out of moms apartment and renting a storage unit my bank account is overdrawn to the point that paypal didnt charge me a thing i owed because of insufficient coverage.

in short, im fucked. mostly financially.

im emotionally more stable than ive been in about a decade or so but man financially im in deep deep shit.

for the purpose of being able to like, buy food and stuff, im opening fic commissions.

pricing:

1€ for 100 words up to 1000 words

commissions for over 1000 words will cost an extra Euro per hundred words over 1000.

if i happen to write more than payed for the extra will be free (unless you want to pay more. im not in a position to say no to free money)

i dont like writing non-con/dub-con, underage character/adult character, heavy gore or a/b/o. i am willing to make the attempt anyway but the price of such commissions will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis and will definitely be higher than the rates above.

Starks are incredibly charming… if they like you. The Starks in this ‘verse (thanks to Tony’s influence on their thought processes) all think Rhaegar is an inbred twit so they tend to treat him like a particularly temperamental toddler. Not that they ever let themselves forget Rhaegar’s political power as the legal King, or that he’s actually a reasonably intelligent adult, they simply don’t ever expect him to behave in a logical or honourable fashion. So they’re never disappointed by Rhaegar the way Elia and Jon Connington are/were.

Meanwhile Lyanna was handed a lovely Dornishwoman practically gift wrapped and everyone expects them to hate one another and are you japing? Why in the name of all the gods to ever exist would Lyanna Stark fight someone for the attentions of a man? So Oberyn keeps going to put pressure on Lyanna for “stealing” Rhaegar only to get an earful about “foolish Andal nonsense” and that if Southron men were real men they would understand when Lyanna stabbed Rhaegar in the face and ran away with his wife. Since according to First Man traditions that’s how “bride stealing” is supposed to work.

So Elia is charmed, and Lyanna grumpily states that she’ll let Rhaegar live because Elia’s health wasn’t robust enough to survive being stolen to the North, and Oberyn makes the unilateral decision to follow the ladies lead on this and now considers Lyanna to be Elia’s “real” spouse. Dorne thinks this is hilarious. ^_^

Newt is sufficiently aware of how easy it is for him to lose track of time when so completely immersed in the surroundings of the world in which plunged himself. Between taking care of his own creatures and making discoveries of new ones, his own maintenance is shoved down to the lowest of his priorities, only noticing when it starts to bother him; like the stink of his own beard that catches various scraps of who-knows-what during his exploration which can only be scourgified so much before he needs to shave it. Or his nails that grow and chip and scratch against something at the most inconvenient times and startle a creature away.

He eventually develops charms to take of those when he can’t be bothered to personally groom himself which help much during his travels.

But the hair on his head is a different matter. When it starts growing and growing some more to obscure his vision and tickle his neck, it’s a simple matter of holding it back with a clip. Sometimes it’s his own, but nowadays they’re ‘borrowed’ ones from Percival’s collection of tie pins because he likes bringing along a small reminder of the man since they’ve deepened their professional relationship into something more.

And then it gets longer, to the point that they stick to the sides of his face and back of his neck in sweltering heat but good enough to leave loose on the colder days for protection from the chill. He then resorts to bands to tie it up—messy tails on lazy days and even messier buns when he can’t afford any distractions.

Until he needs to return to civilization—chop off his lengthy hair, wash and men his clothes, look presentable—return to being one of them and blend in with the rest of humanity, it’s comfortable to be this way; to be wild like the creatures he surrounds himself with, not caring for much beyond the bare necessities so that he can focus on his main purpose.

Newt gazes into the beautiful horizon from these cliffs at the edge of the jungle, blows a strand out of his face and Pickett catches it to tuck behind his ear.
